Meet Andrea Hatfield
Gardening has been a passion for Andrea since her early schooldays when she helped her father on his allotment growing, among other crops, a plethora of prize winning Chrysanthemums. This led to her becoming secretary of the local horticultural society and, simultaneously, starting her own business demonstrating gardening techniques including hanging baskets and containers. As a result she became a well known presenter in the East London, Essex and Kent areas. Her baskets have, in the past, been displayed at both Chelsea and Hampton Court Flower Shows.
Her portfolio of presenting grew rapidly to include the whole spectrum of gardening including lawncare, plant care, barbeques and general garden techniques along with growing both ornamental and edible crops. Working alongside the likes of Christine Walkden she has travelled around most of England, Wales Scotland and Ireland lecturing and demonstrating a range of garden subjects and products.
She has worked for a wide range of companies on a consultancy basis including Miracle-Gro, Phostrogen, Weber, Westland and B & Q and has been involved with The Garden Works since its early days.
Her love of gardening in all its forms is perhaps only superseded by her passion for passing on the enthusiasm and knowledge particularly to inspire a younger audience.
